From Grief to Love Again: The Inspiring Story of Lisa Beamer's Remarriage

Lisa Beamer, the widow of Todd Beamer, an American passenger on United Airlines Flight 93 who tragically lost his life during the 9/11 attacks, never thought she would find love again. However, in a remarkable turn of events, she fell in love with vocalist Raymond Resendes 10 years after her husband's death.
On that fateful day, Todd Beamer and Lisa were on a phone call when Flight 93 crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Her husband's courageous actions were immortalized in one of the most memorable moments of that fateful day, "Let's roll," which would become a rallying cry for the national response to terrorism.
Lisa Beamer had been researching ways to keep her husband's memory alive. It was then that she started volunteering at the Flight 93 National Memorial, in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Lisa went on to deal with the grief of her loss by writing a book called "44 Days: 739 Hours and 1200 Miles Should Keep You Going." There she documented her experience during the first 44 days after her husband's death. The book included time spent with the other family members and widows of the passengers on Flight 93.
After volunteering, Lisa thought that maybe helping others in similar situations might aid in moving forward herself. So she began advocating and ultimately devoting her life to helping widows, offering them encouragement in her writing. Her experience and advocacy caught national media attention.
Lisa Beamer began to find peace with time, discovering that creating something as significant as a book helped alleviate some of her stress, her heart would continue breaking every time she shared that story with people because others wouldn't be able to relate to her situation on a deeper level.
Meeting Raymond Resendes brought emotions both happy and painful as, by then, the couple would be together for 5 years before marrying in 2015. Lisa Beamer eventually wrote a new book, Ways to Love Again. Both books documented how they experienced love going from grief through widowhood to love.
Raymond Resendes faced a great challenge ahead of him since Lisa Beamer was the widow of Todd Beamer, one the heroes of 9/11. There were several interviews during this time in which Raymond spoke in regard to the massive awareness effort of Raymond and Todd's efforts on 9/11. Lisa was introduced to Raymond through mutual friend and it would be the friendship gradually brought them near one another through songwriting in another effort by Lisa to creatively express herself.
Raymond Resendes believed that love has always been in the world and can conquer everything as the two share their hopes that the town will envision and build the 33-acre community center on the edge of the national memorial site so, and ultimately marry to start a private family based out in that place.
Before settling in Pinehurst Township, Cartersville, NY, the family first lived in the nearby village of East Hampton, NY, where both Lisa and Raymond owned property.
In 2019, Lisa Beamer revealed on Facebook that Todd and the flower accompany her on the final miles of running the 2008 Morning Sun marathon a benevolent effort on what could have been Ryan< TIMES' exciting lead which one expects to seize right, "Like finding a ray of sunshine on a snowy day."
